Smt. Sapna Krishnan started her journey into Bharatantyam at the age of 5 under the able tutelage of Late Sri Natanam Shivapalan Master. A performer and a devoted Guru, Sapna Krishnan brings to Bharatanatyam, her own unique sensibility and individuality. In 2004, she started the Lasya School of Dance in Shrewsbury, MA that has grown into an established institution in the New England area. She has conducted charity shows to benefit Akshayapatra and Multiple Sclerosis Society. She also had joined hands with other performers in the area and helped raising funds for Vison Aid Inc. As a teacher, she is a thorough professional and a perfectionist who imparts knowledge and training to motivated students about this divine art form, and as an artist is noted for her outstanding abhinaya, footwork and refreshingly unique choreography. For her, dance is a means of achieving spiritual joy and she has established herself as a Guru, bringing out the best in her students. She is a reputed artist in the area who has synthesized the knowledge she received from her Guru to imprint Bharatanatyam with her personal vision of Dance.
